As I made my way down from the One World Trade Center and stepped out in the sunshine, I stopped at the World Trade Center Memorial. While my eyes wandered along the many names who lost their lives on that tragic day here many years ago, I saw a man leaning towards the concrete with his arms in prayer and his eyes in tears. I took a step closer, and he looked at me. He took a long breath and said: "It hurts to loose a loved one you know." I told him I was sorry as he walked away, leaving a little red rose behind. I stood there for another minute & felt the warm spring sun warm my skin as I held the rose in my hand and wondered about the man and who he might have lost that day. But I also wondered how beautiful it is how we rise again. We build again. And how we don't ever let fear stop us from moving on.
